Jazz Fest: Vox LMC and WMU Gold Company
Fri Apr 24 2026 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Event Description:
Two dynamic ensembles come together for one night of vocal jazz artistry. Gold Company, the internationally acclaimed ensemble from Western Michigan University, brings a legacy of artistry, precision, and energy to the stage. Comprised of outstanding undergraduate and graduate students across a variety of musical disciplines, Gold Company is known for its polished sound and electrifying performances. Alumni have gone on to perform with icons such as Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, Sting, and Liza Minnelli, as well as on stages from Broadway to Hollywood. Their influence continues through graduates who lead top collegiate vocal jazz programs and shape the future of music nationwide. Joining them is Vox LMC, an exciting new vocal jazz ensemble from Lake Michigan College. Vox LMC blends the study of contemporary American music with hands-on experience in music technology. In collaboration with Force Tech, students gain real-world knowledge of sound production, while singers and instrumentalists dive into the rich harmonies and sophisticated rhythms of vocal jazz. The result is a fresh, forward-thinking ensemble experience that bridges performance and production. Together, these ensembles offer a powerful and engaging concert experience, celebrating the legacy of vocal jazz while exploring its future. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear the next generation of artists in action. Jazz Fest events are supported in part by funding from Howard Youth Endowment Program Grant through the Berrien Community Foundation. Free event; no ticket required.
